CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Deep understanding of HR and in particular US legislation.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience at VP/leadership level.
  • Strong collaborator, able to continuously build excellent working relationships with peers and always look for the best approach collectively.
  • Resilient to continuous change and conflicting priorities – able to decipher what’s really a priority and strive to achieve this.
  • Ambitious to grow and achieve amazing things within your career in Uniphar.
  • Experience with global matrix organizations with high growth expectations.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Uniphar continues its strategic expansion in the United States, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Human Resources to lead the people strategy across our consolidated US operations. This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, talent, and organizational design of a high-growth, post-acquisition business, while aligning with Uniphar’s global values of trust, adaptability, and people-first leadership.

THE ROLE

The VP of HR will be responsible for championing Uniphar’s people agenda and leading a high-performing HR team across all functions and geographies. They will be responsible for providing HR business partner support to the US leadership team, ensuring that Uniphar has an inclusive and high-performing culture, with the right people with the right skills and capability to deliver Uniphar’s future strategy and ambition, and champion a culture of collaboration in HR while contributing at a strategic level to the business.
The VP of HR will be a key member of the HR leadership team and will work collaboratively with the CPO, the HRD’s of each division and the central HR COE’s to deliver a world-class HR service to the business. You will advise the leadership team on all people-related matters, processes, and strategies and will be accountable for implementing the group people strategy within their division, ensuring that agreed outcomes are measured and delivered. You will represent HR and the people agenda at the leadership table and contribute to the strategic direction of the business, and play a key role in bringing together colleagues from recent acquisitions, as well as supporting future M&A activity and growth plans.

Key Responsibilities: This is a vital leadership role in our divisions that will drive results, accelerate growth, and increase the organization’s overall efficiency.

  • As a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive the business’s commercial success by designing and implementing an effective people strategy to ensure continued growth and success within the division.
  • Key Business Partner / Advisor to the key leaders across our US business, our CCO and COO on all people related matters.
  • The VP of HR will be a key member of the HR Leadership Team and you will collaborate with the CPO, other HR Directors and senior HR Leaders to ensure a collective people vision and strategy is implemented across Uniphar. This strategy will focus on core and common HR activities, including Talent Acquisition, Engagement, Reward, Learning & Development, HR Technology and other shared HR services across the group.
  • Champion greater alignment across the divisions on all HR systems, processes, and policies.
  • Work with the leaders to define divisional priorities that align with the experience we want to create for our people and the strategic direction of the division.
  • Help to unite the division and its people, seeking ways to integrate the recently acquired businesses and support future M&A activity, with a particular eye on culture and leadership.
  • Drive a high-performance culture, ensuring the business has a mechanism to measure performance and potential and to ensure we have robust succession plans in place for all critical roles across Uniphar.
  • Work with the SLT and HR leadership team to ensure we have the right talent strategy which focuses on developing our talent pool and fast tracking the development of our top talent.
  • Help the division and broader enterprise identify and develop talent and ensure we create as many career defining experiences as possible for all our people. This includes a focus on building a robust succession plan for critical roles across the business and ensuring we develop the next generation of leaders.
  • Work with leaders to identify, build relationships with, and attract future talent and ensure the business has the right people with the right skills to deliver our strategy.
  • Drive Equity, Diversity and Inclusion priorities, championing interventions that will make an impact, raising awareness, encouraging open and honest conversations, and allowing our people to be their true selves at work.
  • Partner with US leaders to ensure HR projects and initiatives are planned and budgeted for. Develop a robust business case to support any investment asks.
  • As a leader in HR, invest in the growth and development of your HR team, peers and function. Give your time generously so that others may learn from you.
  • Be a change agent and lead transformational change, both for the division and broader enterprise.
  • Build our insight into how our people feel and what’s important to them, and work to create a seamless employee experience, along with leaders, HR and other support functions. Ensure we measure the employee experience consistently across the group.
  • Provide advice and coaching support to senior leaders to resolve employee relations and performance management issues.
  • Ensure that there is effective internal communication in division which will support the delivery of a positive employee experience.
  • Facilitate and drive ongoing organizational design, ensuring your division has the right organizational structure to deliver on future ambitions. Lead and advise the business on all business change initiatives, ensuring appropriate consultation with the CPO, CCO and COO.
  • Champion our HRIS strategy, ensuring we realize the benefit of our investment in market leading technology and deliver a consistent employee experience across Uniphar.
