Your tasks
We are seeking a highly skilled and security-focused network architect (m/f/diverse) to design, manage, and optimize complex, cloud and internet based network infrastructures within our enterprise environment. This role ensures, that all cloud and internet based traffic is securely managed, monitored and is compliant with industry best practices. In the context of a global and complex network landscape, these services must be maintained while considering evolving business requirements, reliability, functionality, efficiency and cost. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with AWS, Azure and Google cloud architectures as well as cloud-native firewalls (CNF), Fortinet security solutions and Cisco SD-WAN.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Ownership for designing and prototyping new network architectures and deployments of next generation networks, utilizing Cloud, SD-WAN and Internet Access technologies
• Continuous development of technical and operational service architecture in a context of innovations, automation, network stability, reliability, security and costs
• Performing feasibility studies and working on IT concepts, market research and vendor evaluations
• Make use of DevOps methodology, as well as Infrastructure as Code for automating rollout and operational processes, focusing on effort and cost reductions
• Responsibility for release processes, operational / technical workflows and live deployments in complex production IT environments
• Driving escalation and problem management processes, coordinate complex incident and problem resolution on a global scale with internal IT teams and external service providers
• Efficient communication and valuable collaboration with external suppliers, e.g., managed service providers, software and hardware vendors, as well as internal departments, business units
• Project management in global teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment is essential

Your profile

The ideal candidate (m/f/diverse) will possess the following qualifications:

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
• Expert knowledge in the networking area: network topologies, IP protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, IPSec, SSL, VPN, DNS), dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
• Expert knowledge in building and maintaining public clouds environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), SD-WAN and Internet Access solutions
• Advanced Knowledge in automation for on-premises and virtual environments (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
• Strong and experienced skill set to solve complex network problems/issues using appropriate diagnostic and monitoring tools
• Experience in steering external service providers and partners
• Experience in working with central Cybersecurity on infrastructure or application security compliance and remediation activities (e.g.: Risk Acceptance, Security Configuration Baseline)
• Good communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
• Eagerness to learn and develop
