Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is pivotal in managing finance processes within the APAC region and ensuring the integrity of financial records, while collaborating closely with various stakeholders to maintain compliance and drive process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Finance Processes
- Responsible for one or several APAC Legal entities, serving as primary accounting contact for those entities, with minimal oversight from finance managers.
- Prepare and book complex general ledger transactions, accruals, and prepayments in coordination with counterparts across locations.
- Manage intercompany cost recharges and ensure timely and accurate month-end and yearend close activities for assigned legal entities.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger and trial balance.
- Assist with tax computation preparations and stay updated on financial policies and regulations.
- Actively participate in other finance projects as required.
Audit, Statutory and Tax Compliance
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with audit firms and tax
- advisors to finalize the year-end audit process.
- Prepare supporting schedules and working papers for the annual statutory audit, ensuring the integrity and completeness of financial records.
- Support indirect tax compliance tasks, including VAT (GST) register preparations and drafting VAT (GST) returns.
- Maintain statutory records for the entities within scope and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Engage with tax advisors and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and tax deliverables.
- Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Finance Business Partners, and Shared Services teams,
- including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Fixed Assets.
- Provide insights, analysis, and support to the Financial Controller as needed.
- Work with senior finance team members to ensure compliance in key areas such as transfer pricing, Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, and Company Secretarial activities, liaising with external advisors as necessary.
Process Improvement and Innovation
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive initiatives for systems enhancement within areas of expertise.
- Assist in enhancing systems, procedures, and reporting, leveraging Oracle Fusion to its full potential.
- Engage in cross-functional projects as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software; experience with Oracle Fusion is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines with strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented capabilities.
- Capable of designing process flows, identifying control points, and implementing improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English is mandatory.
