JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team, Minimum two years optical retail experience in the UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the team in providing exceptional eye care services, managing reminder systems and processing data to help us remain compliant and maximise performance. This position requires a strong understanding of how GOS paperwork, payments/NHS works as well as excellent interpersonal skills to assist patients effectively.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in an UK optical practice is essential, two years minimum.
• Excellent knowledge of frame selection and adjustments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential.
• A keen attention to detail and organisational skills are necessary for managing the day to day running of the practice.

• Conduct preliminary tests, including measuring pressures, auto-refraction and performing initial assessments.
• Maintain the practice appearance, frame stock, update patient records
• Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, while ensuring accuracy in prescriptions.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient enquiries and concerns.
• Keep accurate records of patient information, making appointments and diary management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow within the practice.
