Description

Down to Earth Labs is hiring a Field Sampler for the 2025 fall season!
We are looking for an individual to join our team from September to December (weather dependent). This is a full-time, seasonal position where the employee will be driving our trucks to multiple farm fields, where they will use either a hand probe or the vehicle probe to sample soils. You will work independently, sampling numerous farm locations across southern Alberta. These samples will be brought back to our laboratory here in Lethbridge for testing.

APPLICANT MUST:

  • Have a valid non-restricted license
  • Be able to provide a driver’s abstract

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Soil sampling via hand probe/vehicle probe
  • Vehicle inspections and maintenance
  • General sample handling and organization

There are no specific education requirements, however having the following skills will help you succeed at Down to Earth Labs:

  • Knowledge of the southern Alberta area
  • Experience soil sampling
  • Ability to tolerate and withstand working in an outdoor setting (weather fluctuations and laborious activities)
  • Time management skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Honesty and reliability
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interest or experience in agriculture
