Understand machine functions; alter, fit, and adjust components, assemblies, and precision tooling for the function, if needed. Install and test completed machines, tools, jigs, and fixtures to ensure proper functionality. Work effectively collaborating and coordinating with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and solve issues. Learn and work from evaluating available bench mark systems in the field. Setup and operate various machine tools, such as manual lathes and mills, operate a wide variety of hand tools (Mag. drill, grinder, etc.). Apply knowledge of mechanisms, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to be more efficient and effective at work. Communicate and be a channel of any constructive or objective ideas that arise, helping to keep the manufacturing standards up-to-date and at the highest level. Use the team as a pool of technical knowledge, solving problems together efficiently. Assist in creating technical training documentation and oversee training of other employees.
