JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Lead with an electrical bias to manage and oversee the commissioning phase of a complex industrial project In Kildare. This role is critical to ensuring all electrical systems are installed, tested, and handed over in line with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-discipline commissioning activities and act as the key interface between construction, engineering, QA/QC, and client teams during the final stages of project delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Electrical trade qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in electrical commissioning roles, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity on industrial or high-tech projects.
• Strong understanding of Irish electrical standards, industry best practices, and safety regulations.
• Experience with testing and commissioning LV/MV systems, backup power systems, and control systems.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional commissioning teams and deliver under pressure.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, loop drawings, and technical specifications.

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities for electrical systems, including LV/MV power distribution, MCCs, UPS, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and control panels.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules aligned with project timelines and client expectations.
• Review and validate system documentation, including test packs, redline drawings, ITPs, FAT/SAT documentation, and O&M manuals.
• Manage electrical pre-commissioning activities such as insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, functional testing, and system energisation.
• Interface with instrumentation, mechanical, BMS, and process control teams to support integrated system commissioning and testing.
• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to close out punch lists, NCRs, and snag items related to electrical systems.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to commissioning technicians, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Ensure compliance with Irish electrical standards (I.S. 10101), Safe Electric, HSA safety regulations, and relevant industry codes.
• Facilitate client witnessing, handover documentation, and system turnover procedures in accordance with project milestones.
