About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural systems for various building and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop structural systems for buildings projects, ensuring compliance with local authority design requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet client requirements.
• Review and provide input on engineering designs, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians to ensure successful project execution.
• Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed throughout project execution.

Desired Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a Senior Structural Engineer with a proven track record in the design of buildings and civil engineering or infrastructure-related structures, in reinforced concrete, and structural steelwork.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering. Master s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on design of building structures.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience undertaking the design of water-retaining structures, building structures, steelwork or related infrastructure
• Has worked within multi-disciplinary teams, and has been responsible for co-ordination with MEP, Architecture, Utilities.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and deliver successful outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering structural engineering projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
• Experience of working within a 3D design environment is needed and an ability to work to BIM protocols would be desirable
• A knowledge of practices and procedures used within the retail, commercial and/or industrial sectors would be an advantage.
