Standard Job Description Reintegration Officer Organizational Setting and Work Relationships The incumbent works with senior staff members to provide policy advice and technical support relating to the assistance of urban, rural and camp based refugees in a country of asylum or returnees in a country of origin, the host communities and IDPs in their achievement of sustainable solutions. The job requires direct contact with the target population in assessing needs and considering aspects of age, gender and diversity mainstreaming in planning, the needs of host communities and political and socio-economic context. The staff member could represent a UNHCR office in developing a (re)integration strategy and an inter-agency programme in collaboration with the Government, UN agencies and other stakeholders. The staff member also works closely with UNHCR's Programme, Protection and Technical units to ensure that UNHCR Operation in a concerned country reflects the (re)integration strategy of its programme components and that UNHCR's protection principles are reflected in the strategy. The staff member is directly supervised by the Senior Programme Officer, Senior Reintegration Officer or Head of Sub-Office and receives guidance and advice on technical matters from the Branch Office/ Bureau and relevant Units at HQ, especially, Division of Emergency and Programme Support (DEPS). All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks.
