The Opportunity We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of Class 7 and Class 8 tractors, trailers, and related equipment. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of MVE fleet operations and supports our terminals by minimizing breakdowns, improving asset longevity, and keeping equipment road-ready. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform maintenance and repair on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment using modern tools and diagnostic technology. • Conduct routine services and adjustments on Class 7 and Class 8 diesel equipment to ensure vehicle reliability and readiness. • Repair or rebuild mechanical components and systems as needed to maintain optimal equipment performance. • Complete DOT-mandated safety inspections and required documentation accurately and timely. • Maintain compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and applicable regulations to meet legal and safety standards. • Stay current with industry technology and repair methods, maintaining proficiency in diagnostics and mechanical practices. • Possession and use of personal hand tools for diesel and tractor-trailer work is strongly preferred. • Hydraulic system experience is preferred but not required.
