PRINCIPALES TÂCHES ET RESPONSABILITÉS: • Réaliser des tâches de réparation, de démontage, de réassemblage, d’entretien, d’installation, d’ajustement et de dépistage de problèmes de même que des tests de fonctionnement en lien avec les locomotives et la machinerie en atelier, ainsi qu’avec tous les moteurs diesel ou à essence, ce qui comprend les pompes à huile internes, les systèmes de transmission, l’équipement hydraulique et pneumatique, dont les systèmes de freinage, les compresseurs d’air et les groupes auxiliaires de puissance • Utiliser des instruments de mesure de précision tels que des micromètres, des échelles, des jauges, des verniers, des équerres et des indicateurs, ainsi que des équipements de contrôle de tous types tels que des dynamomètres, des équipements d’injection de carburant et des équipements de transmission hydraulique. • Signaler les défauts constatés sur les locomotives, les APU et les équipements • Veiller à ce que l’équipement de l’atelier d’usinage, y compris l’équipement de commande numérique par ordinateur (CNO) utilisé pour le perçage, le fraisage, le tournage et l’alésage, soit bien ajusté, et l’utiliser. • Manipuler tous les outils manuels et électriques couramment utilisés dans l’industrie, ainsi que le matériel de soudage électrique et au gaz. • Utiliser des équipements tels que des ponts roulants, des chariots élévateurs et des plates-formes de travail surélevées. • Veiller au respect des plans, des croquis, des modèles du fabricant et des normes de construction, et savoir s’adapter aux nouveaux processus, matériaux et équipements, aux nouvelles méthodes ainsi qu’aux exigences de tout autre travail généralement reconnu comme étant celui d’un mécanicien ou d’une mécanicienne de moteurs diesels.
