(SEI) is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as our Communications & Brand Strategy Manager. This role is central to shaping and executing SEI’s external communications strategy and internal storytelling efforts. The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking strategist with deep expertise in brand development, marketing innovation, and narrative design—capable of translating SEI’s mission into compelling stories that resonate with our community, partners, and donors. This position reports to the Director of Culture and Communications. PRIMARY Job responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy, including external and internal messaging, aligned with SEI’s organizational goals and the Enhancement Pillars: People, Place, Community, and Purpose. Lead cross-functional initiatives that elevate SEI’s visibility and reputation locally and nationally. Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on brand positioning, audience engagement, and communications impact. Storytelling & Communications Craft storytelling frameworks that highlight SEI’s community impact and programmatic excellence. Collaborate with internal teams to capture authentic stories from staff, youth, families, and partners. Develop and execute high-impact written content across internal and external channels, including newsletters, executive communications, social media, and fundraising campaigns. Design visually compelling graphics, presentations, and branded materials that align with organizational messaging and enhance audience engagement. Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms—digital, print, media, and events. Team Management Supervise the Communications Team and facilitate training, work plans, coaching, time management, and performance reviews. Ensure compliance of approved budget through monitoring expenditures and timely reporting. Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous learning within the Communications Team. Marketing Innovation Leverage data-driven insights and emerging technologies (AI, automation, social listening) to optimize marketing campaigns. Lead digital transformation efforts in marketing, including SEO, content strategy, and omnichannel engagement. Monitor trends in nonprofit marketing, philanthropy, and community engagement to keep SEI ahead of the curve. Build relationships with media outlets, influencers, and community leaders to amplify SEI’s voice. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic marketing, branding, or communications leadership. Proven success in managing teams and leading cross-functional projects. Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing skills. Experience in nonprofit, education, or community-based organizations strongly preferred. Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and graphic design software. Must have excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate excellence. Demonstrated skills and abilities in budget development, strategic planning, resource development and collaboration. Ability to effectively present program components and outcomes to community partners and the general public if needed. Ability to provide training to staff in the areas of expertise.
