JOB DESCRIPTION: QUANTITY SURVEYOR (CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our growing construction company in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in the construction industry, with expertise in managing costs, contracts, and project budgets. The QS will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimations, ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle, and helping to mitigate risks. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in large-scale and high-profile projects in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, based on project plans, specifications, and site conditions.
• Conduct regular cost monitoring and financial reporting, ensuring the project stays within budget and identifying potential cost overruns or savings.
• Manage procurement activities, including preparing and reviewing tender documents, evaluating bids, and recommending contractors and suppliers.
• Administer contracts, including reviewing and managing variations, payments, and claims.
• Perform value engineering exercises to improve the cost efficiency of designs and construction methods.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that costs are accurately monitored and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site visits to assess project progress and ensure that works are being carried out in accordance with approved budgets and plans.
• Review and negotiate sub-contractor agreements and provide recommendations for contract administration.
• Provide advice on contract conditions, risks, and changes in scope, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, payments, variations, and other financial documents.

Qualifications:

• 10-15 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably in Abu Dhabi or the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and financial management practices.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
• Excellent understanding of local construction regulations, building codes, and industry standards in Abu Dhabi.
• Ability to assess and manage risks, costs, and contract variations effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, AIQS) is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per mont
