Implement and manage robust database backup and disaster recovery solutions. Monitor and tune databases to ensure peak performance and scalability, including optimizing SQL queries and indexing strategies. Maintain data integrity and accuracy through continuous monitoring and regular audits. Diagnose and resolve database-related issues quickly and effectively. Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patches with minimal downtime. Capacity planning and forecasting system growth for additional resource requirement Support SQL server estate across Prod/UAT/Dev environments. Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis) Use tools like SQL Sentry or SSMS to ensure databases are running to optimal standards. Index maintenance to speed up query execution and reduce system load. Reorganizing indexes and updating statistics Assist in queries for new or existing applications, ensuring optimal structure and performance. Document detail changes to databases structure including configurations and performance. Assist in the generation of SQL reports that may be required for the business. Resolve audit findings through change management process. Provide support in application upgrades and releases. Performing routing data updates, patches etc Assist in the support of disaster recovery procedures. Ensuring SQL server workloads are distributed evenly across the infrastructure.
