Job Summary This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions and carries out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. This position is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit. Education Qualifications * Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program, Practical Nursing program, or an approved Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program Required Experience Qualifications * Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a LPN/MA/AEMT obtained through professional MA/LPN/AEMT work experience or completion of student clinical rotations. Required * Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant Preferred * Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse Preferred * Current experience as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Preferred Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care * Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care * Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment * Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors. * Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level * Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Possess skills to effectively solve problems. * Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment. * Possess effective written and verbal communication.
