JOB TITLE: PROPERTY HOUSEKEEPER

Location: Portsmouth and surrounding postcodes although some travel to other locations may be required
Terms: Initially Part time, 20 hours per week, but could lead to full time 40 hrs per week
Requirements: Flexible working hours but typically within daytime hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, although flexibility is required which may involve some earlier starts or later finishes or occasional Saturdays.
Overtime is not paid for occasional working beyond the standard hours as it is anticipated that some weeks will have shorter hours and compensate for other weeks where slightly longer hours may have been worked.
Additional pay or bonus payments may be agreed on a case by case basis where specific tasks or projects require additional days or hours being worked over a longer period of time.
About the Role: As a housekeeper you will be responsible for the general cleaning and maintaining of the common tenant areas of our residential properties. In addition to routine cleaning there will be maintenance tasks such as fire alarm testing and light outside / gardening work.
To identify and bring to the attention of the Property Manager any issues requiring maintenance.
Whilst some work will be consistent throughout the year, some work may be more seasonal, particularly during the summer months where more outside work may be required.
The Property Housekeeper will report to the Property Manager

JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS:

· Full UK drivers licence and use of own vehicle – mileage will be paid

• Has a good understanding of the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals in a residential environment.

· Able to complete light gardening work and operate a lawn mower

• Be able to work independently and make decisions regarding the forward planning of work
• Be physically fit and able to carry out the physical demands of the job including standing for extended periods of time
• Has a good eye for detail and able to notice items that need attention, such as ovens that need cleaning or showers that need descaling

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To complete routine cleaning of the common areas of our HMO properties, including kitchens, bathrooms, halls, stairways, landings and social areas
• Carry out periodic deeper cleaning of appliances such as ovens, cookers and washing machines
• To periodically clean and disinfect wheelie bins
• To keep the outside surrounds of the properties in a neat and tidy condition to include sweeping of drives and pathways, weeding, mowing of lawns,
• Wiping over of window sills and external doors and frames which are within easy reach
• Provide feedback to the Property Manager relating to work completed and any maintenance work identified
• Be responsible for monitoring the stock of cleaning materials at each property and ordering new supplies from the Property Manager as required
• Ensure work is completed to the standard and timescale required as directed by the Property Manager
• Manage each job to ensure that the work is completed in an efficient manner and with minimal disruption to Tenants
• Ensure any work is completed safely and in compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
