SUSTAINABILITY CO-ORDINATOR

£42,000 – £48,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)

We’re looking for a Sustainability Co-ordinator to join our Co-op. In this role you’ll support the delivery of our pan-Coop sustainability strategy. You’ll support the Head of Sustainability and the Sustainability Manager with the ongoing management of a wide range of sustainability activity, working with key stakeholders across the whole of our business.
You’ll need to be a great communicator, as well as having a genuine passion for sustainability. If you do, this could be a great opportunity for you to gain fantastic exposure across the Co-op while making a real positive difference within the business and beyond.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Support the Sustainability Manager to deliver our pan Co-op sustainability strategy, delivery plan and cross-functional workstreams, making sure that all activity aligns to our core goals
• Co-ordinate sustainability ‘hub and spoke’ activity, facilitating accurate reporting on workstream progress
• Monitor sustainability projects and goals across different projects, seeing that progress is on target and that deadlines are met
• Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across Co-op with those who contribute to the delivery of our sustainability strategy
• Connect with external stakeholders to build knowledge and understanding of market insight and innovations to support the ongoing debate about sustainability legislation and government support
• Support the Head of Sustainability with the ongoing facilitation of the sustainability leadership forum
• Influence senior stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the plan
• Promote Co-op’s sustainability efforts amongst Co-op colleagues through regular internal communications, including the development and launch of mandatory training
• Compile sustainability reports and present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders in the business, up to exec level, using data and insights to underpin your conclusions

• Great problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions confidently
• An understanding of project delivery within a fast-paced business environment
• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to influence internal stakeholders in the development and execution of complex plans while managing conflicting expectations and priorities
• Natural communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and energize colleagues at a senior level across the business
• Experience of championing diversity, inclusion and co-operation
• Strong general IT skills with the ability to use programmes in Microsoft365 comfortably (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• A passion for sustainability
