The Role As a qualified Litigation Lawyer, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-volume customer litigation, making sure cases are run to a high standard and in line with the Legal Services Act, Consumer Duty, FCA/ SRA rules and guidance, the Civil Procedure Rules and internal policies. You will allocate and supervise work across the team, manage key supplier relationships, provide clear reporting against service levels, and act as an escalation point for urgent or sensitive issues, while supporting the Head of Litigation on more complex and strategic matters. You and your Team You will be assisted in the conduct of the litigation by a team of six Customer Litigation Specialists and create a supportive, team-based culture where people are coached, developed and empowered to deliver good customer outcomes. Working closely with the Head of Litigation and the Litigation and Complex Disputes Lead, you will also partner with colleagues across Group Legal, Operations, Compliance and Risk, as well as external firms and advocacy providers, to improve ways of working and drive efficiency. As a Litigation Lawyer, you will: This is a hands-on leadership role with strategic reach. Day to day, you’ll be: Leading with confidence – managing, coaching, and developing a team of six paralegals to deliver high-quality, compliant litigation outcomes. Ensuring compliance excellence – providing robust legal oversight in line with the Legal Services Act, Consumer Duty, FCA/SRA regulations and guidance, the CPR, and VBG policies. Owning delivery – allocating and supervising work and monitoring productivity. Acting as a trusted escalation point – advising on complex customer calls and correspondence with professionalism and empathy. Driving continuous improvement – reviewing processes and procedures to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and deliver better customer outcomes.
