Are you a confident Draughtsperson with experience in construction design? Looking for your next step with a company that values quality, teamwork, and innovation?
We’re working with a well-established contractor specialising in roofing and cladding systems, with over 40 years of experience in delivering high-profile commercial projects. They’re now looking for a Draughtsperson to join their design team in Darlington.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in technically varied work and contribute to some of the UK’s most recognised commercial developments.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A qualification such as an HNC (or equivalent) in design, construction, or a related field
• Experience in a draughting or design role within the construction industry
• Strong skills in AutoCAD (any 3D CAD knowledge is a bonus)
• Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ideally, some knowledge of roofing or cladding systems - such as rainscreen cladding, composite panels, flat or metal roofing

DUTIES:

Working closely with the design and project teams, you’ll be producing technical drawings and detailing solutions for roofing and cladding systems across a range of commercial builds.

Your role will include:

• Creating detailed general arrangement and fabrication drawings
• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, specs, and tender documents
• Coordinating with internal teams and external consultants
• Attending project handovers and design meetings
• Updating drawings to reflect design changes or site variations
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers on specialist elements
• Supporting junior team members as needed
• Assisting with as-built documentation at project close-out
