WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE The facility maintenance team ensures the smooth operation of all spaces at a busy 24/7 airport, keeping terminals, offices, and other buildings safe, functional, and well-maintained. They handle maintenance repairs, project related work, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to support airport operations and passenger comfort. This team ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operations, supporting 24/7 airport activities and driving smart building initiatives. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the project delivery for all assigned mechanical facilities projects including development of project charters, schedules, cost estimates, and communicating milestones to key stakeholders. Act as the mechanical systems subject matter expert across capital, tenant, O&M restoration, and non‑O&M projects managed by the infrastructure division. Track, report, and update project schedule, costs within the airport’s project reporting systems, including Oracle Projects. Identify project risks during the charter phase and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle to minimize operational impacts. Serve as the central point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring continuous communication with project partners regarding scope, progress, and airport operational impacts. Oversee planning, design, and construction activities, including chairing or participating in meetings to ensure quality, compliance, and proper execution within constrained operational windows. Provide technical leadership through investigations, preliminary designs, cost information, and preparation of Terms of Reference, RFP documentation, and consultant deliverables. Support reliability and asset management outcomes by ensuring continuity between project delivery and maintenance handover, including accurate capture of asset information in the computerized maintenance management system WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING You’ll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don’t worry – we’ll help you through this! Relevant extensive professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. 6–8 years of progressive experience in mechanical facilities engineering and maintenance, including experience managing or operating Class II thermal plants is required. Proven ability to deliver projects across the full project lifecycle using PMI framework knowledge areas, including cost control, risk management, and contract administration. Strong working knowledge of mechanical building systems, regulatory codes, life‑safety systems, and reliability‑based maintenance practices. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross‑functional stakeholders by clearly communicating technical and operational impacts, prioritizing competing demands within tight operational windows, and resolving project challenges to minimize disruption to 24/7 airport operations. As this position is considered safety-sensitive, candidates must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process. This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract as part of the hiring process.
