The Canberra Hospital is a 600+ bed tertiary trauma and referral hospital providing services to the ACT and South-Eastern New South Wales region of Australia. It is the principal teaching hospital of the Australian National University (ANU) Graduate Medical Program. The Department of General Surgery recognises that for most candidates an unaccredited position will be a steppingstone towards training application. This position creates excellent opportunities, including good operating theatre exposure, to fulfil the application criteria. Furthermore, suitable candidates will receive full referee support. Within the Department of General Surgery, as an unaccredited registrar, you will be working alongside accredited registrars, fellows, and consultants with the aim to deliver a 24/7 comprehensive service to the community. Tasks will include ASU and trauma surgical services as well as after hours and elective rotations.
