Beam is the corporate venture builder of BEUMER Group — a global leader in intralogistics. We build startups that solve critical problems across the logistics and industrial sectors. We are looking for experienced intrapreneurs to co-found startups with us. As an Intrapreneur in Residence, you’ll work through a validation phase for up to 18 months to test and prove one of our pre-validated venture opportunities. You will collaborate with Beam’s internal team and BEUMER experts to deeply understand the problem space, define the solution, and prepare for company formation. We want you to validate and launch a B2B SaaS company focused on modernizing the reverse logistics infrastructure. If you have a background in innovation, supply chain, or returns logistics—and are ready to build your first company, we want to hear from you. The Problem We’re Tackling Inflight retail has remained stuck in the analog era, despite modern aircraft being fully WiFi-enabled and airports investing heavily in retail. Arrival peaks, carousel congestion, and disconnected airport systems make post-landing retail even more fragmented. We are exploring how to turn the Baggage Handling System (BHS) into a logistics hub for inflight and arrivals retail—using timing, connectivity, and orchestration to enable seamless inflight orders, routed through BHS events to precise delivery points post-flight. Your Background We are looking for a future founder who brings real-world understanding of airport logistics and passenger operations. You likely: Have worked inside an airport or airline in non-commercial roles, such as baggage operations, turnaround coordination, inflight operations, or airport data systems. Have experience working with or adjacent to systems like BHS, EBS, AODB, or inflight planning and ground-handling logistics. Understand the pain points of disjointed passenger journeys from an operational or systems lens, not just from a consumer or marketing view. Are familiar with how retail, ground ops, and baggage flows intersect—or fail to. Have not yet founded your own company, but you are ambitious, strategically sharp, and motivated to own and launch something transformative. Have a high degree of political acumen, can navigate large organizations, and know how to work across stakeholders with different incentives. Hold a Master’s degree (MBA or MSc) and bring strong analytical capabilities and conceptual rigor. What You’ll Do Conduct 25+ interviews with stakeholders at airlines, airports, baggage handling teams, and retail partners. Quantify the operational and revenue gap caused by disconnected retail and baggage flows. Identify the threshold where airport logistics can support asynchronous or pre-ordered inflight commerce. Map out a high-value solution that integrates inflight ordering, BHS triggers, and retail fulfillment. Build a concept, brand, landing page, and solution narrative that wins customer attention. Secure LOIs and validate technical feasibility with key system partners. Collaborate with Beam’s in-house venture team to shape the MVP, business case, and investor pitch. Pitch for pre-seed funding to launch your company with Beam as co-founder. You Bring 5+ years in airport ops, airline ground-handling, or logistics/IT coordination roles. Exposure to inflight systems, AODB, baggage tracking, or airport retail systems. Strong storytelling and stakeholder engagement skills. A strategic, systems-level thinker who can simplify complexity into opportunity. An energetic, founder-like mindset with high accountability and ownership. Full professional fluency in English, German is a plus. Strong political acumen. Readiness to go from zero to one in an uncertain and fast-moving environment. A strong academic record.
