Working independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, performs full scope of practical nursing functions for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area of specialty. This includes activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families. Working collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and under general supervision, supports the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where the acuity or complexity of care requires an advanced level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses. Strong Rehabilitation Centre is British Columbia’s largest rehabilitation centre, offering inpatient services to patients in four unique programs: Acquired Brain Injury Inpatient program (ABI): This program provides specialized rehabilitation services for older adolescents and adults who have sustained a brain injury, due to one of the following causes: head trauma, stroke, oxygen deprivation, infections affecting the brain, toxic exposure and brain tumours. Neuromusculoskeletal (NMS) program: This program provides specialized rehabilitation services for various neuromusculoskeletal impairments, conditions may include neuromuscular diseases, MS, Guillain-Barré syndrome, trauma, amputations, burns, transplants. Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU): This program supports clients who are medically stable but not quite rehab-ready due to issues of tolerance or other factors. The Spinal Cord Injury Inpatient Program (SCI): This program offers specialized inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with spinal cord injuries. Qualifications Education & Experience Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
