POSITION SUMMARY

The primary function of the QA Nurse is to review and audit notes for documentation consistency with the patient’s Plan of Care and adherence to the quality-of-care guidelines set by Medicare in the United States.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Skilled in providing effective nursing care, assessing resident situations
• Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
• Willing to undergo training in nursing QA review and Medicare guidelines
• Working knowledge of Medicare Skilled Nursing requirements

• Reference assessment and patient’s therapy evaluation for accuracy and completeness.
• Audit charts for clinical oversight, compliance and adherence to the US Medicare guidelines.
• Identify clinical problem areas and document deficiency trends.
• Communicate with clients’ administrative and clinical associate staff in the correction of any such deficiencies.
• Lead Quality Assurance Initiatives, striving to maintain the highest standard of care.
• Develop and implement quality improvement programs.
• Review documentation for compliance.
• Educate and support the nursing team in providing top-tier care.
• Facilitates smooth communication, managing resident concerns, and supporting staffing efforts to ensure efficient coordination.
• Submit daily QA worklog report.
