Des Hughes Motors, a well-established and trusted name in the motor industry, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join our team in Portlaoise. This is a full-time position ideal for someone with a strong background in accounts and a proactive approach to financial operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounts role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in the motor industry is an advantage
  Possibility for role to be a hybrid once established in the position.

• Processing accounts payable and receivable invoices
• Managing daily payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations
• Issuing month-end customer statements and managing accounts to ensure timely payment
• Maintaining accurate records of vehicle purchases, sales, and stock levels
• Performing month-end closure routines
• Completing statutory tax returns including VAT, PAYE, PRSI, and VRT, along with related reconciliations
• Collaborating with external partners to complete monthly management accounts
• Utilising Microsoft Office to manage day-to-day tasks efficiently
