BERCZY EYECARE: OPTOMETRIC AND OPTICAL ASSISTANT/PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Welcome to Berczy Eyecare! We are an optometry clinic located in Berczy Village, Markham, Ontario who aims to provide high quality service to the community for all your optometric needs with specialization in Myopia Control/Management and Paediatrics.
We are looking for individuals who are outgoing, detail-orientated, efficient, and able to multi-task. Someone who likes working with people, including children and the elderly is important! Duties will include front desk, pre-testing patients, contact lens teach and patient counselling. Optometry/Medical office work experience preferred, but not mandatory – thorough training will be provided. Proficiency in English is a must - fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin will be a great asset.

Responsibilities
  • Answering phone calls & emails, arranging appointments, updating and organizing patient records (OHIP), invoicing & billing
  • Managing patient files, records, placing and fulfilling orders
  • Preparing patients for eye exams, administrating pretesting examinations
  • Conducting contact lens teach, with insertion/removal and cleaning instructions
  • Frame selection for children
  • Upholding and effectively applying procedures and polices
  • Ensuring the work environment is clean, sanitized, and comfortable for patients
  • Community outreach (including but not limited to public speaking, marketing in community)
