JOB DESCRIPTION:
Are you passionate about shaping the future of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) assets? Do you thrive on strategic planning, technical problem-solving, and collaborative working? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a skilled, experienced and motivated M&E Surveyor to join our property team based at our Doxford Park, Sunderland head office. In this role you will help us deliver high-quality investment planning and project delivery across our mechanical and electrical portfolio. You will work collaboratively with procurement to ensure that tender processes are successfully completed to enable the delivery of all M&E Projects. Lead on the preparation of all pre-contract works required for handover to the Delivery Team and manage the delivery of small-scale Mechanical and Electrical projects.
You’ll be joining our dynamic Property team, reporting directly to the Lead Building Surveyor, within out Asset Services Team. The team provide technical surveying, reports, schedules of work and act as the client representative on specialist projects.

To support collaboration and innovation, you’ll be required to work from the office for part of the working week and be flexible to attend on-site meetings as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Developing short, medium, and long-term investment plans for M&E assets.
Managing the delivery of small-scale M&E projects to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
Providing expert technical advice across a range of systems including renewable technologies, gas, fire alarms, sprinklers, intercoms, and CCTV.
Collaborating with procurement and delivery teams to oversee tender documentation preparation and ensure smooth project handovers and successful tender processes.
Maintaining and reviewing comprehensive asset data on the condition of M&E assets to inform investment priorities and strategy.
Supporting the development of a Mechanical and Electrical Strategy that reflects asset age, condition, and repair trends.
Feed investment requirements into our 5-year rolling Investment Plan.
Leading the creation, planning, and design of M&E projects, ensuring affordability and strategic alignment.
Developing specifications and client requirements in collaboration with specialist leads.
Providing technical advice and ensure compliance with CDM and Building Regulations.
Managing small-scale M&E project delivery.
