Our ideal candidate should bring the following blend of technical knowledge, experience, and interpersonal skills:
A minimum of 5 years of experience managing applications, databases, and data systems, with a proven track record of success in similar roles
Advanced experience with coding languages and tools such as PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, YAML, and Git
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS, as well as system automation tools like Ansible or Puppet
Familiarity with AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), and cybersecurity best practices
Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Strong collaborative skills to work effectively across departments and drive digital transformation initiatives
A keen understanding of how to translate organizational objectives into effective technological solutions.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail when managing systems and implementing changes
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education in IT, computer science, or related fields

THE ROLE:

Robert Half is recruiting now for a detail-oriented and technically savvy Application Support Specialist for our Edmonton Client. As the successful candidate you will take ownership of managing and optimizing the organization’s application portfolio. In this role, you will focus on integrating systems, streamlining data management, and driving innovative solutions to improve business operations. By leveraging workplace automation, database configurations, and AI-driven efficiencies, you will ensure applications align with organizational goals while enhancing overall digital capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in making data and applications work smarter to improve workflows, eliminate redundancies, and deliver long-lasting impact through technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Application Management: Oversee application services, including integration, updates, and optimization, ensuring they align with team goals and organizational objectives
Data Systems: Configure and manage databases and data systems to ensure security, efficiency, and scalability while supporting overall system automation. Enable integration with enterprise applications, AI, and data analytics tools
Technical Support: Develop solutions to minimize application and software conflicts,
optimize Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Teams, Viva, SharePoint) to align with organizational objectives and generate performance reports and collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements
Strategic Initiatives: Partner with teams across portfolios to strategize and implement digital solutions, contribute to major projects, lead application and data-related projects (planning, budget, execution) and drive innovation through the adoption and automation
