To learn more please visit https://careers.serco.com/gb/en About the Role You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to the Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist in the delivery of dental services to patients. You will also assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records as well as other duties as required by the Dentist including promotion of oral health to patients and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery. This role is part-time, working 2 days a week on Mondays & Tuesdays. To be successful in this role, you will have: • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour. • Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification. • Minimum of 2 years (full time equivalent) experience within the last 5 years. • Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities. • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care to patients within a dental surgery. About Simpson Barracks Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD). Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. The Army base services approximately 6000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7. The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts). About You You have a professional and friendly manner and enjoy interacting with patients and assisting the dental team with a range of support activities.
