The Device Services team owns a collection of high-throughput, low-latency services responsible for device metadata management, device authentication, and critical client bootstrap workflows. These services are among the earliest systems invoked during application startup and play a foundational role in establishing device trust, enabling access, and supporting seamless user experiences across SiriusXM products. Our team operates services that verify the authenticity of SXM-generated chipsets, manage device lifecycle information, and publish critical device-related events used throughout the SiriusXM platform. The systems we build and operate serve tens of millions of listeners and connected devices across North America and are designed for exceptional reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. What you’ll do: Design, build, operate, and evolve highly available services responsible for device identity, authentication, metadata management, and device lifecycle workflows. Develop low-latency, high-throughput systems that sit on the critical path of client application startup and access flows. Collaborate with engineers across User & Identity, Vehicle Services, Client SDK, Platform, and Data Engineering teams to deliver reliable end-to-end experiences. Drive software quality through thoughtful design reviews, code reviews, testing strategies, and operational best practices. Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and continuously improve system reliability, observability, and performance. Participate in architecture discussions and help shape the future evolution of SiriusXM’s device trust and authentication platform. What you’ll need: 5+ years of professional experience. Experience building backend systems in Scala, Java, Kotlin, or similar JVM languages; experience with Scala and functional programming is highly desirable.
