SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 - 5 years of experience in software development at intermediate or senior level.
• An excellent understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
• A strong technical background and experience with modern technologies.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Significant experience with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, Postgres DB, React frontend and GitHub for source control and CI environment.
• A working knowledge of front end HTML, Liquid, CSS, and JS, and GitHub for source control and CI environment a strong asset.
• Knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem is a strong asset.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented and experienced Intermediate or Senior Developer to join the development team responsible for shipping our Shopify theme catalogue and app products. As a software developer on our product delivery team, you will directly report to the Lead Developer and you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the technical requirements, are delivered on time and within budget, and are of high quality. You will have the opportunity to take on a leadership role by mentoring more junior members of the team and working together with lead developers to make impactful technical decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development

• Assume the responsibilities of a Software Developer, actively participating in software development tasks and technical projects.
• Collaborate with other developers to ensure code quality, stability, security, performance, and maintainability of the software being developed.
• Work closely with Product Management, providing technical insights to inform product planning and the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with the Support team to identify, debug, and resolve defects in the software.

Mentorship and Team leadership

• Stay closely connected with the team to identify and address any issues or challenges early on, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Act as a technical resource, providing guidance and mentorship to team members when they encounter challenges or require assistance.
• Dedicate time to explain the reasoning and background behind technical decisions, facilitating the learning and growth of team members.
