Indigenous Strategy, Research, and Business Development
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available
SALARY: $68,556 - $96,644 per annum

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Indigenous Studies, Instructional Design or a related field with several years of lived experience, cultural knowledge OR a Master’s degree in Curriculum Development, Education, Instructional Design, or a related subject
• Self-identifies as a Canadian Indigenous person with lived experience and expertise in Indigenous knowledges, epistemologies, methodologies, histories, traditions, and/or languages
• Experience delivering or facilitating workshops for adult learners and first-generation learners
• Experience in program and course design, development, delivery, and assessment
• Experience with the practice of Indigenous culture, protocol, history, and knowledge systems
• Experience with the pedagogies of land-based or applied education
• Experience assisting, coaching, and supporting faculty to develop, revise, and adapt curricula
• Experience hosting, coordinating, and conducting focus groups and community engagement opportunities
• Experience with the use of technology in the delivery of education
• Ability to work in a team and individually with limited supervision while managing ambiguity and adapting to changing circumstances
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, specifically when dealing with Indigenous Elders and Indigeous community
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent written communication skills
• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience teaching in varied formats of delivery (online, blended, face to face)
• Formal training and/or certification in Project Management
• Understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing, including ceremonial practices and guidance from Elders
• Ability to speak or understand an Indigenous language

The Truth and Reconciliation and Community Engagement (TRCE) department within Indigenous Strategy Research and Business Development has a position available for an Educational Developer with an Indigenous Education focus. The successful applicant will collaborate with the TRCE team, and across the College on a variety of initiatives guided by the Truth and Reconciliation 94 Calls to Action. Educational Developers at RRCP support program development and renewal, support faculty in their practice, develop and deliver RRCP staff and faculty workshops, and provide consultation for course-level design to enhance learning experiences. This position will work on strategic initiatives across the institution to support RRC’s indigenization efforts, with a particular focus on helping programs and faculty bring Indigenous ways of knowing into their educational practice. The incumbent will help to develop and promote frameworks, processes, and strategies that preserve and protect Indigenous perspectives, values, and practices for a safe and sustainable future. They will initiate, support, and coordinate Indigenous participative, experiential, and land-based learning initiatives, adapting delivery methods as required (e.g., online and blended learning). They will provide guidance and direction to ensure that changes for Indigenous equity, diversity, and inclusion are actualized.
