We are CTO Platforms — a small but impactful team of backend engineers at the core of Gen. Our work directly supports malware analysts, security researchers, and other experts, enhancing the efficacy of our antivirus products(Avast, AVG, Avira, Norton).
What We Do

Our bread-and-butter:

• Process massive datasets – Ingesting millions of malware samples daily and managing large-scale metadata.
• Provide critical APIs & datasets – Used by multiple teams across the organization.
• Ensure system reliability – Our work has a direct impact on our customers.

Your Role

As a Backend Engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain services that store malware samples and metadata
• Build internal libraries & frameworks for wider use
• Deploy services to Google Cloud Platform (Kubernetes) and work with CloudSQL/PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Kafka, BigTable and BigQuery
• Conduct code reviews, mentor colleagues, and share expertise across teams.
• Join the on-call rotation (once ready)

What You Need

Technical Skills:

• Strong backend development experience (preferably in Python 3)
• Software Engineering background
• Expertise in software architecture, clean code, and scalable solutions
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Fluent spoken and written English

Soft Skills:

• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Passion for continuous learning and improvement
