Your opportunity

As a Software engineer within the Investments Equity, Diversified Alternative Investments and Financial Risk team you will join a development team responsible for delivering ongoing change to the suite of applications and systems comprising Janus Henderson’s investment capabilities in risk and exposure analytics and reporting.

• Work closely with the Product Owners to understand development priorities and backlog items.
• Work closely with Architects and Tech Leads, ensuring that all solutions fit well within the strategic architectural vision.
• Performs hands-on development, adhering to the SDLC framework and practices at Janus Henderson
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Must have skills

• Extensive experience with cloud-native application and data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Proficiency in programming languages, specifically Python and C#, is essential.
• Demonstrated experience with Azure DevOps, including the use of tools for CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Proven experience in working with big data technologies.
• Practical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Exposure to C#.NET or Angular.
• Comprehensive understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.
• Experience in microservices development and API creation.
• Profound understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex systems at scale.
• Experience working with geographically dispersed development teams.

Nice to have skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with Snowflake and relevant certifications are advantageous.
• Knowledge or experience in the Financial Services and Asset Management industry.
• Familiarity with MSCI Risk Metrics or Barra One.

Compensation information
The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $137,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This role will remain open through April 30, 2025. Annual Bonus Opportunity: Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
