What You’ll Do Implement backend features and fixes in C#/.NET for payment flows (auth, capture, refunds, reconciliation), APIs, and internal services. Analyze system behavior and propose improvements to performance, reliability, and security; turn findings into well-scoped backlog items. Harden integrations with gateways and third-party providers Write comprehensive unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews and documentation. Ability to evaluate new features, assess performance impacts, and identify risk factors early. Help maintain CI/CD pipelines and release hygiene; follow SDLC conventions and team coding standards. Collaborate closely with product managers to clarify requirements, estimate work, and communicate risk and tradeoffs. Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure uptime and responsive incident handling. Experience You Bring 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, including building and operating backend services in production. Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET/.NET Core, and RESTful API development. Practical experience with AWS or another major cloud (e.g., EKS/ECS, EC2, ElastiCache/Redis, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch). Comfortable with message-driven and service-based architectures; familiarity with at-least-once delivery semantics and idempotent processing. Experience with NoSQL and relational databases; able to write efficient queries and reason about data modeling and performance. Solid understanding of testing practices (unit, integration, contract), code quality, and peer review. Working knowledge of SDLC, Agile practices, and DevOps principles; able to ship reliably and incrementally. Clear, respectful communication and a bias for action; comfortable collaborating across teams and functions. Nice to Have Payments or fintech experience (gateways, tokenization, webhooks, chargebacks, reconciliation, PCI considerations). Experience with Ruby or React in a production environment.
