Practice the Five Rights of Medication Administration: 1.) Right resident, 2.) Right medication, 3.) Right time, 4.) Right route, 5.) Right dose. Observe and report any change in resident’s condition to Charge Nurse. Take vital signs as ordered. Assist CNAs as workload allows. Maintain a clean and well-stocked medication cart. Document medication administration according to Bethany Home policy. Understand and maintain confidentiality. RESPONSIBILITIES: Have knowledge of, and pass medications as ordered by physician. Administer ordered snacks. Take vital signs as ordered. Observe for possible need for PRN medication and report observations to Charge Nurse. Administer PRN medications as ordered by Charge Nurse. Understand possible side effects and interactions of medications. Maintain a clean and well-stocked medication cart. Understand and maintain confidentiality. Understand Bethany Home’s policies on abuse prevention, safety, fire safety, severe weather safety. Implement infection control practices according to Bethany Home policy. Understand and document according to Bethany Home policy. Completes all assigned in-service training. Assures medication certification is current at all times. Accountable for the all skills on skills checklist. All other assigned duties.
