Overview:
The Associate Software Engineer will support software development, system integration, and solution delivery for utility-focused applications and platforms. As a consultant, you will work with internal teams and directly with client stakeholders to develop and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions that support grid modernization, energy distribution, and asset management.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software solutions tailored to utility clients’ needs, including grid operations, energy analytics, and digital asset management.
• Assist in the configuration and deployment of commercial and custom-built applications for power utilities.
• Participate in client workshops, requirements gathering, and technical discussions.
• Work closely with senior engineers and consultants to design and implement scalable, maintainable code.
• Collaborate in Agile development cycles, supporting sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
• Support data integration between utility systems (e.g., SCADA, GIS, OMS, AMI, DERMS).
• Conduct software testing (unit, integration, UAT) and assist in issue resolution.
• Help prepare technical documentation, training materials, and user guides for clients.
• Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and power sector regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience or coursework in software development using languages such as Python, Java, .NET (C#), or JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of database management and API development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites (as required).

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Internship or academic experience in the utility or energy domain.
• Exposure to grid technologies and systems (e.g., SCADA, GIS, ADMS, DERMS, or EMS).
• Familiarity with power system operations, IoT, or real-time data applications.
• Knowledge of cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and DevOps tools.
• Understanding of IT/OT integration and cybersecurity in the utility environment.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
