OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications through rigorous testing processes. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify issues and improve the overall user experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of software testing methodologies and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.

EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is essential.
• Familiarity with mobile application testing on platforms like Android and iOS.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Knowledge of SQL for database validation and data manipulation tasks.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
• Exposure to performance testing tools like LoadRunner is a plus.
• Experience with scripting languages for automation purposes (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles and web services (SOAP/REST).

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various software applications including mobile and web platforms.
• Perform functional testing, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, performance testing, and load testing.
• Utilize automation tools such as Selenium and TestNG to enhance testing efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects identified during testing phases.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and provide feedback on potential improvements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain documentation related to test cases, test results, and defect tracking using tools like Jira or HP ALM.
• Contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Engage in data analysis skills to validate data integrity across various databases like MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Support the development of automated tests for RESTful APIs and web services.
