POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking to hire an intermediate Software Developer to join our growing Data & Analytics team within Whitecap Resources Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of new interfaces and functionality as requested by the business stakeholders, to automate their processes.
You will also be required to update existing software, work directly with the client facing teams to build new features and upgrades on a regular basis. KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Work closely with the development lead / collaborate with the D&A development team to deliver robust development solutions to business stakeholders.
• Interface with clients to capture business requirements for new development and provide support (Fix issues, deliver datasets, reports and automations as needed).
• Work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Commit to developing and implementing solutions on schedule, with minimal supervision.
• Develop and maintain coding standards and libraries.
• Desire to learn new tools and technologies.
• Basic understanding of Oil and Gas business processes or willingness to learn them.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent)
• 5-7+ years related work experience in software development including all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Business Process Analysis, Design, Planning and Implementation.
• Strong knowledge and experience using .Net framework development standards (Microsoft Visual Studio IDE tools)
• Strong knowledge and experience writing and supporting Windows applications (Client-Server model) using C# and other .Net languages.
• Strong knowledge and experience with PL/SQL development in Oracle / Postgres SQL database environments.
• Excellent knowledge of API development using Python language (such as REST APIs, SOAP APIs, WebSocket…).
• Solid Knowledge of ETL tools (such as Informatica, FME) and data transformations methodologies (Design and Develop data warehouse solutions that support incremental and full data extraction processes).
• Excellent knowledge of data analytics tools such as Tableau (Create Visualizations, set up Custom SQL integration, Automate data extracts with Workflows…).
• Working knowledge of web-based development technologies - Progressive Web Applications (PWA) using Blazor – Infragistics Ignite UI, REACT, Angular JS, Express.JS, Node.JS frameworks is preferred
• Working knowledge of Server-Side website programming tools such as Java Script.
• Good experience with GitHub and related tools
• Knowledge of Shakkudo platform (Dbt, Kestra, AppSmith, Datahub)
