Job Description We are seeking a Collections Analyst to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of a traditional collection professional. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of accounts receivable and collections processes but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks. Collecting overdue funds from clients, which may involve the use of collection methods and techniques, and legal claims. Stratifying collection activities to maximize cash receipts and issuing dunning letters to overdue accounts. Regularly review client accounts to identify overdue payments. Using skip tracing techniques to locate clients and contact them regarding overdue accounts to determine reasons for non-payment. Negotiating payment arrangements and issuing payment commitment letters, and in some cases, repossessing merchandise when payment is unlikely. Maintaining accurate records about customer payment status. Review monthly receivables with Managing Directors to ensure accuracy, identify outstanding items, and support timely resolution. Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of collection efforts, ensuring timely follow‑up on outstanding invoices. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and support continuous improvement of collection processes. Qualifications Required Qualifications Collections experience with a track record of settling debts effectively. Experience and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must be detail-oriented and capable of working independently as well as part of a regional team. Ability to commute to the office at least twice a week. Negotiation Skills: This person must be well-versed in settling differences and reaching agreements beneficial to all parties involved. Critical Thinking: The candidate must be able to think clearly and rationally, understanding the logical connection between ideas. This includes analyzing and solving problems by deducing consequences from known information. Accurate and detailed account reconciliation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact with customers and internal stakeholders effectively. Attention to detail is vital for ensuring that all financial transactions and customer interactions are recorded correctly. This position requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as proficiency in using various office software like Microsoft Excel and Word. It’s a role that demands a high level of organization, negotiation skills, and the ability to handle potentially stressful interactions with professionalism and tact.
