We’re the UK’s largest ports operator with a network of 21 ports around Britain. We handle around one quarter of the UK’s seaborne trade and contribute £7.5 billion to our economy every year.
It’s a story we’re proud of but it doesn’t end there. We’re transforming our business and embracing the future.
We offer a vast range of roles spanning the UK, all rooted in a culture that welcomes diversity, fosters talent, encourages internal movement and progression, and places safety as our number one priority.
We are the largest port operator in the UK, with 21 ports around the country stretching from Kings Lynn to Troon. With a wide customer base, handling various cargoes handling over more than a quarter of all the ports industry volumes, we provide support for over half the UK’s offshore wind and catalyse investment, good jobs and prosperity in coastal communities. This is enabled in part by our Engineering teams who work to maintain and improve our equipment and assets ensuring continual availability for our Operations teams.
We’re currently looking to recruit a Civil Engineering focused Technical Authority to set group standards, provide an official voice and represent ABP externally to technical bodies shaping industry practise. A number of our assets date back to the Victorian era, and appreciation of older infrastructure is preferred, this can include bridges, quay walls, marine structures, lock gates, road and rail infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing procedures, policies, guidance and compliance to be rolled out across all our ports and further assuring the business by ensuring that the same is adopted and embedded. We’re looking for an individual with strong influencing skills, a safety-first mindset and operational experience of developing and implementing asset management plans.
