Description The City of Greer is accepting applications for a Public Services Worker II in our Public Services Department. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs various street maintenance duties such as cutting grass and trimming trees, sidewalk maintenance, storm drainage maintenance, and ditch and ROW maintenance. May perform a variety of tasks in the construction, modification, maintenance and repair of streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains, graffiti removal, and traffic signs. Operates equipment for snow removal from streets and sidewalks. Cleans streets by picking up trash and debris and cleaning ditches and drains. Performs minor repairs on City buildings as needed. Completes assigned work orders provided by the Public Services Supervisor or Crew Team Leader on a regular basis. Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as maintenance route lists, daily hour logs, and vehicle preventative maintenance checklist. Prepares and/or processes records and reports as needed. Refers to equipment operator's manuals, policy and procedure manuals, codes/laws/regulations, etc. Uses a variety of equipment and tools such as lightweight trucks, shovels, rakes, lawn mower, axes, chain saws, weed eater, and various other supplies in the performance of job duties. Performs related work as required. Hours: Monday – Friday; 7:30am – 3:30pm; hours will vary at times due to weather, City festivals, etc. Salary: Minimum $20.11 hourly, dependent on experience.
