Shellharbour is growing Local Government area, and we are in the unique position of expanding our finance team.
We are seeking two experienced and motivated Senior Financial Accountants to lead Council’s financial accounting functions, including, compliance, reporting, reconciliations and audits. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our growing finance team and contribute to strengthening financial operations and supporting key initiatives.
In this leadership role, you will manage a small team and partner closely with the Financial Services Manager to drive strong compliance, reduce financial risk,enhance Council’s overall financial performance and play a key part in strategic projects. Each position will take the lead in one of two key functional areas: Financial Reporting and Compliance or Cash, Banking and Special Projects, including the Shell Cove development, ensuring accurate and timely financial oversight.
The successful candidate will hold an accounting degree and be CA/CPA qualified (or working towards this) with significant accounting experience. You will have strong leadership, communication and system skills and experience with TechnologyOne is highly desirable.
