They protect businesses and consumers alike from unfair trading practices and ensure businesses trade safely and comply with their important statutory responsibilities.  About the Role You will become part of an experienced team working with dedicated officers, in a fast-paced environment.  Working as part of a team your work will focus around ensuring businesses are compliant by carrying out inspections, undertaking criminal investigations and leading on intelligence led projects that meet the Council’s objectives of supporting businesses and protecting residents from harm.   Officers will receive training but will be expected to manage their own workload investigations, inspections or project work.  You will be supervised by a Senior Trading Standards Officer but using your own initiative and enforcement experience to progress incidents and carry out necessary enforcement work.  This can be providing advice via letters, issuing notices or undertaking a criminal investigation.
