We are currently recruiting for flexible independent contractors providing respite support to our clients in your home in south of Red Deer! Summary: The mandate of the service is to offer supports that match the needs of the individual in order to enhance the quality of life of the person. The three areas that are emphasized in providing service to individuals with developmental disabilities are independence, well-being and inclusion. As a Provider Respite, you are a vital member of this Program, without you we would not be able to offer this amazing residential service to individuals with development disabilities. You offer services in your home with that focus of independence, well-being, and inclusion. About the Home Support Program Community Outreach and Disability Service offers a wide range of program options in community-based settings for people with disabilities. The mandate of the service is to offer supports that match the needs of the individual to enhance the quality of life of the person. The three areas that are emphasized in providing service to individuals with developmental disabilities are independence, well-being and inclusion. Philosophy The Home Support Program is based on the innate dignity and right to independence and a meaningful life for each and every person regardless of their disability. The individuals have the opportunity to experience dignity of risk, and to take part in determining life choices. The importance of independence, inclusion and well-being cannot be overstated. The individuals have the same rights and responsibilities as every other member of the community and are capable of exercising these rights, each according to his or her individual capacities. The home support program provides adults with disabilities the option of living in a family home environment which supports their desires and dreams and provides individual skill development and personal growth opportunities. A safe and supportive home environment promotes personal relationships with friends and family and supports the individual’s lifestyle choices. Program Objectives To give persons with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live in a private home that provides respect, dignity, comfort, and security. To support people with their well-being, independence, and inclusion. To develop annual Individualized Service Plans, taking into consideration the person’s unique strengths and needs. It is the person’s service plan, he/she will be involved in the plan, and goal setting. To provide the person with opportunities for growth and learning. Requirements: Complete an interview with the Program Supervisor or service designate. Complete a home study. Provide and have 3 completed references. Submit a Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check for all adults over the age of 18 residing in the home. Provide proof of vehicle insurance at a minimum of $2,000,000 legal liability. Provide proof of home insurance at a minimum of $2,000,000 legal liability.
