About Qualicum School District Qualicum School District is centrally situated on east Vancouver Island and covers the area of Nanoose Bay to Bowser and spans from Errington across the Strait of Georgia to Lasqueti Island. We serve a student population of approximately 4700 students. Qualicum School District consists of eight elementary schools (Grades K-7), two secondary schools (Grade 8-12), an alternate school (PASS/Woodwinds) and a Distributed Learning program to support home-learning families called the Collaborative Education Alternative Program (CEAP). False Bay School on Lasqueti Island is entirely off-grid with an immense solar project recently completed.

Assignment: Indigenous Education Curriculum Support Teacher The assignment may change to meet the needs of the Indigenous Education Program and enrollment.0.20 FTE TEMPORARY (Friday) Commencing as soon as possible until June 30, 2025 or upon notification that the temporary position will end due to budgetary issues or declining enrollment.The successful candidate will be expected to: Provide assistance, as directed, to all areas of the District 69 Indigenous Program that are consistent with the District Equity Scan and the District Strategic Plan; Provide support and guidance on the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action; Provide curricular support regarding Indigenous content for all staff and students as requested;Plan, promote and facilitate the integration of Indigenous curriculum into the school system in conjunction with district curriculum personnel, school administration, and teachers; Work cooperatively with all staff to increase Indigenous students knowledge and understanding of their cultural heritage; Work cooperatively with Indigenous staff in the planning and implementation of Indigenous Pedagogy, local protocol and knowledge that supports students, staff and community;Foster and maintain positive, supportive relationships between Indigenous people and schools;Assist in the development and implementation of District 69 Indigenous program goals and future directions;Attend meetings as required and where appropriate;Provide monthly reports to the District Principal of Indigenous Education; Provide curricular resource support for the hulquminum Language program.The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: A valid BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with BC curriculum at the elementary and secondary levels;A teaching degree at the secondary or elementary level;Teaching experience working with Indigenous students;Indigenous, Métis or Inuit ancestry.Salary Grid Link: https://www.bctf.ca/docs/default-source/services-guidance/salary-grids/2024/69-Salary-Grid-2024.pdf Make a Future / Qualicum School District Please note to submit your application to the actual job posting you must click onto the job posting, then click the APPLY button.
