JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to interpret and integrate health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction and operations. Will provide technical input and guidance, assist with communications, track performance trends, and conduct inspections and monitoring. Your work will help keep employees safe by contributing to the continuous improvement of the health and safety of the project.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health, and 8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Demonstrable experience in large construction projects in mining.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and internal auditor certificate preferable but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of legal requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of the English language preferable (writing, reading and speaking) but not mandatory.
• A1 license issued more than 5 years ago.
• Availability to work in an atypical regime in the city of Cajamarca at more than 4200 meters above sea level.

• Assisting in the execution of the security component of an ESH Program, including technical and administrative aspects.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of Health and Safety Management Plans, associated plans and procedures and training programs.
• Providing input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracting, Commissioning and other groups to ensure that health and safety requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
• Interpreting health and safety requirements and provides guidance on risk assessment and ESH program execution.
• Researching regulatory issues and requirements and preparing documentation and reports. Providing support and guidance for safety studies, risk assessments and other health and safety reviews.
• Participating in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution. Interacting and communicating with stakeholders and helps resolve their concerns.
• Participating in meetings with clients, team members, subcontractors and other interested parties.
• Performing ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assessing compliance with contractual, regulatory, project and Bechtel requirements.
