LABORATORY TECHNICIAN/TECHNOLOGIST

GEMTEC is a dynamic growing engineering and environmental sciences firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Laboratory Technician/ Technologist to us in our Oshawa location. We currently have an opening for a Full-Time and/or Contract Laboratory Technician/Technologist in our Oshawa, ON office.
The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• College level diploma is considered an asset.
• Experience with laboratory test procedures for soil, concrete and aggregate considered an asset but not necessary as training will be provided.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Strong multi-tasking, organization, and planning skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office for data entry.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Possess ability to lift 30-50lbs on a daily basis.

• Laboratory testing of aggregates, soil, and concrete.
• Various office, laboratory, and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.
• Record test data and prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results.
• Performing other related duties as required.
• Following all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
