REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities necessary to perform the essential duties of this job.

  • 3–5 years of experience in an operations support, administrative, or technology coordination role.
  • Experience working in an educational environment or a customer-related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in a security field is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in emergency management is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficiency in computer use (PC/Windows) is required, including all Microsoft Office programs and Google Workspace.
  • Experience working with student information systems, such as Veracross, is a plus.
  • Ability to manage and use software and security technology, including door access control, video surveillance systems, and mass notification systems.
  • Possess a current and valid Washington State Driver’s license, a good driving record, and be able to operate school vehicles.
  • Ability to work and communicate cooperatively with co-workers, staff, and contractors
  • Ability to work independently and ask for assistance when necessary
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students (ages 10-18), teachers, administrators, fellow employees, parents and guardians, alumni, trustees, and independent contractors.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time, extended school-year, non-exempt position with an hourly range of $35-$40. Pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The schedule typically runs from early August through late June or early July (approximately 42 weeks), aligning with the traditional academic calendar and is subject to occasional changes.
All school breaks—including winter, mid-winter, spring break, and Thanksgiving week—are designated non-working days. The schedule includes holidays and a portion of the summer off, providing a substantial annual break.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative & Systems Coordination

  • Serve as the point of contact for adding, removing, and updating users, roles, and files in safety systems (e.g., door and gate access systems and mobile app platforms).
  • Coordinate cross-campus access requests for employees, coaches, parents and guardian association, and visitors.
  • Maintain door systems user permission levels in alignment with safety protocols and employee roles.
  • Assist in managing and administering door access control scheduling across campuses (e.g., doors auto-unlocking for classes, events, or rentals), and take over the full responsibilities when needed.
  • Review daily campus systems alerts for anomalies.
  • Troubleshoot access control, camera, and mobile safety app issues, and coordinate with users, technical support, and vendors as needed.
  • Inventory and update emergency supplies regularly to ensure their availability and readiness. Ensure all electronic emergency devices are charged and operational.
  • Print yearly updated emergency operation plans and emergency reference guides for the emergency bins.
  • Ensure workspace and classroom evacuation maps are updated and posted.
  • Coordinate monthly safety drills and manage the maintenance and updates of emergency attendance records by using our student information system, Veracross.
  • Ensure emergency guides are posted in each workspace and classroom.
  • Assist with scheduling community safety officers for the afternoon and sporting events.
  • Maintain departmental records and meeting notes, including organizing and scanning physical and digital documents.
  • Serve on the safety committee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Operational Safety Support

  • Assist with community safety officer duties during the school day and occasionally after school, as needed, during events (training will be provided).
  • Assist with serving as a crossing guard to ensure pedestrian safety (training will be provided).
  • Assist with monitoring and supporting students’ community expectations.
  • Assist with reporting safety and parking infractions using Seattle’s Find it, Fix it App.
  • Monitor real-time safety alerts via app-based platforms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
