The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role involves diagnosing system issues, performing routine maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations, and recommending energy-efficient solutions to clients. The position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering reliable, code-compliant, and cost-effective service. Responsibilities The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned. Install HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ducts, thermostats, and refrigeration equipment. Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems by testing and inspecting equipment after installation. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and optimal performance. Clean or replace filters, check refrigerant levels, calibrate thermostats, and lubricate moving parts. Inspect HVAC systems for signs of wear and tear, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system problems, including electrical issues, refrigerant leaks, or mechanical failures. Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, pumps, or thermostats. Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs while minimizing downtime for the customer. Advise customers on system upgrades and energy-efficient alternatives for improving system performance. Install and configure energy-efficient HVAC systems and smart thermostats. Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards. Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and wearing proper protective equipment. Handle refrigerants and other hazardous materials in compliance with environmental and safety laws.
